Q + A

Should I stay in Mountain Village or The Town of Telluride?

Multiple wedding events will be in town, including our after party! We suggest staying in town for convenience and also so that you can come to the after party! The gondola will not be running at this hour of the night to get back up to Mountain Village.

What's the difference between Telluride Town and Mountain Village?

Telluride Town sits at the end of a box canyon and is the more populated area full of bars, restaurants and activities. It conjures the genuine historic feel of an old mining town. We recommend staying in town to be closer to everything! Mountain Village sits atop Town accessible by car or complimentary gondola rides from Town and is the newer area of Telluride with plentiful accommodations and a premium golf course. The Telluride /Mountain Village Gondola runs daily from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. **When selecting lodging, please make sure that that your choice is in town, and not Mountain Village, if town is where you wish to be.**

What is the weather like in Telluride?

Telluride is beautiful in June with mild sunny days and cooler evenings. The average high is 71 degrees with the average low at 41 degrees. The nights can get chilly and we will be outside for portions of the weekend, so a light jacket or wrap would be advisable.

How do I thrive at such a high altitude?

This is a very important thing to be aware of. The town of Telluride is situated at 8,750 feet. Mountain Village is even higher with accommodations between 9,400-10,000 feet. This means there is 30% less oxygen in the air in Telluride than at sea level. We recommend staying hydrated. Even before you leave home, be sure to drink lots of water and electrolytes! Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) should also help. Please call the Telluride Medical Center, (970) 728-3848 if you are worried about your symptoms. It is important to not ignore any of these symptoms. Are kids allowed at the wedding events?

Although we love your littles, we are politely requesting no children please.

Should I rent a car in Montrose?

We suggest you take the shuttle. Parking can sometimes be tight and you really don't need one to get around, once you're there. Check out our Travel tab for more detailed information.
